Irish jockey Jack Kennedy sustained a broken leg, his sixth career injury of this type, following a fall at Fairyhouse on Saturday. The incident involved the Gordon Elliott-trained horse Twoohthree, which tragically died from the fall. The 25-year-old Kennedy was competing in the initial race of Saturday’s event for trainer Gordon Elliott when he and Twoohthree fell severely at the final fence. Twoohthree succumbed to its injuries while Kennedy received immediate medical attention on the track. Richard Downey, who serves as the medical officer for the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board, stated, “Jack has broken his right lower leg and has gone to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown for management of the injury.” Despite a career frequently impacted by injuries, Kennedy has accumulated multiple Grade One victories, including winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup with Minella Indo in 2021. Trainer Elliott subsequently celebrated a win with William Butler in the concluding bumper race, but he expressed that his primary concern remained with Kennedy. The Cullentra House trainer commented, “It’s heartbreaking obviously for poor Jack to break his leg again. It puts a dampener on the day, but that’s the game we’re in.” Post navigation Darren Murphy’s Irish Premiership Match Previews Leeds United Reportedly Eye Aston Villa’s Louie Barry for Loan
