Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin addressed the media ahead of Wednesday night’s Premiership match against Rangers at Pittodrie. During his remarks, Thelin characterized Rangers as “a good team” led by an experienced manager. When questioned about Aberdeen’s status as favourites for the upcoming game, Thelin stated, “I don’t speculate about those kind of things,” adding that “every game is a challenge.” Regarding inquiries about whether the pressure rested entirely on Rangers – who would trail the Dons by nine points if defeated – Thelin responded, “It is so early, we are in October. I don’t think about the table in that way or how many points etc, for me the most important thing is the performance for ourselves in this game and that is the only thing we focus on.” Despite Aberdeen’s recent strong form, Thelin maintained that the team still has numerous areas requiring improvement. He also dismissed suggestions that his squad might be looking ahead to this weekend’s League Cup semi-final match against Celtic. When asked about Kevin Nisbet’s fitness for the Rangers fixture, Thelin replied “maybe.” He confirmed that Dante Polvara is the sole other player currently unavailable.
