Jersey Announces Squad for Concluding 2024 Cricket Fixtures

Jersey, currently ranked 33rd in the world T20 international standings, has announced its squad for the European Cricket Women’s Championship in Spain and upcoming international matches against Gibraltar. Chloe Greechan is set to captain the team, which features debutant bowler Olivia Bastin. The squad is scheduled to compete against Austria, Czechia, Germany, and Spain in the Challenger Division of the 10-over tournament, taking place from December 8-14 in Malaga. Following the championship, Jersey will travel to Gibraltar for two T20 internationals, where they will play against the host nation. Gibraltar holds a world ranking of 31, two positions higher than Jersey. Head coach Darren Thomas stated, “It will be good to end the 2024 season on a high with some fast paced T10 cricket and competitive T20i fixtures.” He added, “Ahead of next year’s ICC T20 World Cup Qualification events, this will be a valuable experience which promises some thrilling match ups.” The full Jersey squad comprises: Chloe Greechan (capt), Mia Maguire (wkt), Aimee Aikenhead, Olivia Bastin, Erin Duffy, Erin Gouge, Lily Greig, Sophia Hanson, Georgia Mallet, Analise Merritt, Trinity Smith, Florence Tanguy, Grace Wetherall.
