Goalkeeper Jack Butland has called on Rangers to confront the pressure at Pittodrie and secure a crucial win against Aberdeen. Philippe Clement’s team is currently positioned third in the league, trailing both the Dons and Celtic by six points after nine matches. Speaking to Sky Sports, Butland stated, “I don’t think anyone is satisfied where we sit, it’s not where we want to be.” He further emphasized the need for accountability, adding, “There’s room to improve, there’s lots of things going on, but as a squad we can’t use them as excuses. We have to perform, and the only thing the fans want to see is a reaction.” Butland highlighted the significance of the upcoming fixture, commenting, “It’s huge, every game is huge but there’s plenty on this and there’s no bigger occasion for us to come away with a really important three points.” He continued by stressing the importance of the team’s mindset: “There’s always some that carry a little bit more weight. As a player and as a team we need to embrace, we need to enjoy the experience and step up to the challenge.” He concluded by anticipating a challenging encounter, stating, “It’s about winning the battle ultimately. They’re going to make it tough for us, they’re going to be physical. They’re playing with a lot of confidence after a really positive start to the season. We’re going to have to match that and go above that.”
