Following Bournemouth’s 1-0 victory against Tottenham, manager Andoni Iraola commented on the match, stating: “It is a very good win. I especially liked the second-half.” Iraola further elaborated on the game’s progression, adding: “First half we were disciplined in defence and not conceding chances, but also not as much of a threat as we were in the second. We had many chances but luckily we finished the job.” Addressing Dean Huijsen’s display, the manager remarked: “I think he has shown from the beginning that he can do this. He plays with confidence and even though he is 19-years-old he has played a few games. But now with the injury to Marcos [Senesi], he for sure will have to play more.” He also noted the challenges of playing as a defender in the Premier League, stating: “It is not always easy to play as a defender in the Premier League, but I hope the young players can grow together and continue their development. The good thing for them is that they have room to improve.” Regarding Senesi’s injury, Iraola confirmed: “It is a massive injury. We weren’t sure if it was just a knock or big knock but we know now is a massive injury. It’s quite significant so he will probably be out for some time.” It is noteworthy that Dean Huijsen holds the record as Bournemouth’s youngest ever Premier League goalscorer, achieving this at 19-years-old and 235 days.
