Huddersfield Giants have secured Fiji international Taane Milne from the NRL’s South Sydney Rabbitohs on a two-year contract. Milne previously scored 24 tries across 69 NRL appearances for the Rabbitohs. The 29-year-old player is set to join utility back Jacob Gagai and England international Tom Burgess as new additions to the Giants’ roster for the 2025 season. Milne participated in 20 NRL matches for the Rabbitohs during the previous season and has accumulated 88 games in the league, having also played for St George Illawarra and the Warriors. Milne stated, “I’m really excited to make the move over there, my partner will come eventually. It’s been a long process but I’m glad it’s done now and I can’t wait to get in to training and meet the boys. I was speaking to Tom Burgess, and he was talking good things about the club.” Milne’s most productive season with Souths occurred in 2022, when he scored 10 tries in 22 matches. He recorded a total of 24 tries across his 69 appearances for the club through the end of 2024. The club indicated that he is expected to join the Giants’ pre-season preparations “in the coming weeks,” contingent upon receiving his visa clearance. Giants chairman Ken Davy commented, “I’m extremely confident that Taane will be an excellent addition to our squad and we are excited to have him join our club. He performed extremely well in the recent internationals and we’re hoping he can continue that form in the Claret and Gold.” Post navigation Dai Greene Appointed Head of Sprints and Hurdles at Loughborough University Cardiff City’s Reindorf Expresses Gratitude Following Landmark League Debut
