The 60th Scottish Ploughing Championships recently concluded in the Highlands. The competition featured multiple classes, including events for ploughs pulled by horses and those utilizing vintage tractors. The championships took place over the weekend at Newmore Farm, located near Invergordon. The regulations governing the competition specify that participants are forbidden from marking out guide lines on the ground. Furthermore, furrows must be ploughed to a predetermined depth, and contestants are required to complete their assigned amount of ploughing within a specified duration. For a successful entry, the ploughing must exhibit uniformity and neatness, ensuring no stubble or grass remains visible within the furrows.
