The New Saints eliminated Cardiff City from the Genero Adran Trophy quarter-finals on Sunday. In a clash between the Adran Premier’s top two teams, reigning champions Cardiff were left with 10 players after Mikayla Cook received a red card in the 13th minute. The New Saints then took the lead when Olivia Buckland scored from Caitlin Chapman’s well-placed cross. Cascade, the sole second-tier team still in the competition, hosted Swansea City, last season’s finalists. Swansea quickly established a lead through Emily Richards, with Stacey John-Davis then extending it. John-Davis secured a hat-trick in the second half by adding two more goals, and Jasmine Guymer also found the net, sealing a decisive victory for Swansea. At Jenner Park, Barry Town United and Wrexham competed for their inaugural semi-final spot. Olivia Fuller put Wrexham ahead just before half-time. Nat Clark increased the visitors’ advantage early in the second period, though Ellie Preece quickly responded for Barry, scoring within five minutes. However, Ava Suckley netted Wrexham’s third goal, securing their win. Aberystwyth Town, seeking their fourth consecutive semi-final appearance, had their match against Briton Ferry Llansawel postponed. The game was called off due to unfavorable weather conditions experienced over the weekend.
