David Weetman, a forward for Cornwall, has secured a new one-year contract with the League One team, setting him up to commence his third season with the club. The 27-year-old, who joined the Penryn-based club in May 2023 from the French team St Gaudens Bears, has become recognized as one of the Choughs’ leading players. His agreement marks the first new deal since businessman Kenny Stone acquired the club last week. Weetman conveyed his sentiments to the club website, stating, “It means so much to be able to represent Cornwall again in 2025. Ever since I have joined the club I have loved my time here, it is home to me now and I can’t see myself playing anywhere else.” Cornwall’s 2025 campaign is scheduled to commence in late January with a home fixture against North Wales Crusaders in the second round of the Challenge Cup. Their League One season will then begin on 23 March, with an away match at Weetman’s previous club, Newcastle Thunder. Regarding Weetman, Stone commented, “Our chats about what lies ahead and the enthusiasm to become a leading man in our pursuit for glory has been refreshing and contagious. I look forward to seeing David grow as a player on and off the field and he will continue to be a huge asset for the club.” Post navigation Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Focus on Young Talent Wolves Appoint Former Porto Manager Vitor Pereira Amidst Premier League Struggles
