Lewis Turner is currently in his second period with the National League North club, Farsley Celtic. Farsley Celtic’s captain, Lewis Turner, has been released from hospital and is now at home with his family, following a suspected cardiac arrest he experienced last week. The 32-year-old defender collapsed on the field during his team’s FA Trophy fixture against Gateshead last Tuesday. Turner received medical attention on the pitch and was subsequently transported to the hospital after being resuscitated, leading to the abandonment of the match. “After what has been a really tough week, I am now back at home with my family,” Turner, who previously spent time in Leeds United’s academy, shared in a post on X. He continued, “I can’t thank the medical staff and paramedics enough for treating me at the game. In particular Frazer Bell, Gateshead’s physio, who performed CPR on me and saved my life.” Turner added, “I have been overwhelmed by the support I received on the night from the players and staff from both clubs, and for all the messages and well wishes me and my family have received. We are so grateful.” This marks Turner’s second tenure with the National League North club, and he has also played for other non-league teams including Chester, Harrogate, Scarborough, and Matlock.
