Edinburgh commenced their Celtic Challenge Cup campaign with a powerful performance, securing a decisive 63-15 victory against Glasgow Warriors at the Hive Stadium. The Warriors initially took the lead through a try from winger Sky Phimister, but the home side quickly responded with scores from Hannah Walker, Aila Ronald, Lucia Scott, and Cieron Bell. The first half also featured successful penalty kicks by Glasgow’s Lisa Martin and Edinburgh’s Lucy MacRae. With a substantial 34-10 advantage at half-time, Claire Cruikshank’s team maintained their momentum throughout the second 40 minutes. Bell crossed the line again, and Scotland international Shona Campbell also scored on her debut following a quick tap penalty. Walker completed her third try of the match before late scores from substitutes Talei Tawake and Faye Sutherland finalized the comprehensive win, while Erinn Foley registered a consolation for the visiting side.
