Derby County midfielder Ebou Adams has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to advance in the Championship standings, even after a sequence of three consecutive league draws. Adams’ sole goal for Derby County this season occurred in August against Watford. The 28-year-old Adams finalized his transfer from Cardiff City in the summer, making his loan move permanent. He has since become a consistent presence in the core of Derby’s midfield at the outset of the 2024-25 campaign, having started in the last 10 Championship fixtures. Prior to this recent streak, Paul Warne’s squad had not recorded a draw this season. This changed with three successive matches where they shared points with Millwall, Oxford United, and Hull City on Saturday. Speaking to BBC Radio Derby, Adams stated, “I think it shows that we’re strong defensively and we’re keeping the scores down.” He added, “I think going forward, we are creating chances. In the last three games, we have finished quite strong and if we can just get that one chance, and instead of a one [point] add two more [points] to that, it puts us right up the table.” The Gambia international’s high work-rate has been a significant contributor to the Rams’ strong start to the season, following their promotion from League One last term. This has provided creative midfield players Kenzo Goudmijn and Marcus Harness with greater freedom to push forward. While Adams netted his first goal of the season against Watford in August, he also notably missed an open goal against his former club, Cardiff City, in the 97th minute of a 1-0 home victory three weeks later. Head coach Warne subsequently described this particular miss as “hilarious.” Adams concluded by acknowledging the situation, saying, “It’s a little bit frustrating but look at the positives – we are doing well.” Post navigation England’s 1966 World Cup Victory Plans Uncovered in Old Suitcase Liverpool Women’s St Helens Stadium Move Hailed as Success Despite Search for First Home Win
