Dundee United supporters were invited to share their perspectives on an overlooked aspect of the club, whether positive or negative. The following are some of the responses received: Neil stated his personal goal was for the team to finish 10th or higher, thereby re-establishing its position in the top flight, with a long-term aspiration to consistently rank among the top six in subsequent seasons. He noted the team’s strong performance but highlighted the significant impact of five key player injuries. An anonymous contributor raised concerns about the recurring injuries sustained by Ross Docherty and Louis Moult, questioning the likelihood of their imminent return to play. Stuart expressed a feeling of “deja vu,” acknowledging that football fans often have “selective memory when it comes to their team’s pain.” He conveyed a sense that the club has experienced this situation previously: a stronger-than-anticipated return to the top flight, with the possibility of European football returning to Tannadice, followed by an implied negative outcome, which he described as “pessimistic I know.” Gary advocated for “three or four” new signings in January. He described the preceding “hard but good six weeks or so,” noting the absence of “the big man at the back, Ross Graham,” and commended the entire squad for having “to dig deep.” He expressed hope for a positive outcome past Christmas and New Year, aspiring to “chase Rangers a bit more,” and specifically mentioned that “Three points at Ibrox on Saturday would be great,” concluding with an optimistic “Onwards and upwards.” Another anonymous commenter voiced skepticism regarding Goodwin’s management, stating that the standard of play in games they had attended “has been pretty poor.” This individual predicted that, based on recent observations, the team would “highly likely” be in the bottom half of the league by the end of January. Ross acknowledged the “great start” to Dundee United’s return to the top flight but cautioned that the team is “a mere three losses (or wins for teams below us) from the dreaded relegation dogfight.” He then posed a rhetorical question about the club’s aspirations – “Dare we dream of Europe/mid-table mediocrity/relegation scrap (deleted as appropriate)” – and questioned the strategy for the January transfer market: “do we twist or stick in the transfer market? Time will tell.”
