Filming has commenced on a behind-the-scenes documentary at Plymouth Argyle, focusing on the Championship club and its head coach, Wayne Rooney, who was appointed in May. Cameras will capture events at Home Park as the former England captain navigates his inaugural season leading the team. This announcement follows the day after Rooney’s wife, Coleen, entered ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity…’ jungle in Australia. Since taking charge of Argyle in May, Rooney has guided the Pilgrims to four victories and four draws across their 15 Championship matches this season. The specific platform or channel that will broadcast the program, along with its air date, remains undisclosed. Plymouth Argyle, currently positioned 18th in the 24-team Championship and one point clear of the relegation zone, joins a growing list of clubs featured in such documentaries. Among these, Wrexham’s “Welcome to Wrexham” series, which highlights owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, has achieved significant popularity on Disney+. Netflix’s “Sunderland ‘Til I Die” spanned three series, chronicling the Black Cats’ journey after their relegation from the Premier League and Championship into League One, followed by their subsequent promotion back to the second tier. Additionally, Premier League teams Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Arsenal have also been subjects of behind-the-scenes documentaries in recent years.
