Crystal Palace achieved consecutive victories for the first time this season, progressing to the quarter-final stage of the Carabao Cup. This marks the club’s first advancement to this stage of the competition since the 2011-12 campaign. Eberechi Eze opened the scoring for Oliver Glasner’s squad, and his subsequent departure due to injury raised concerns, but Daichi Kamada, who entered as a substitute, netted the winning goal for the away side. Kamada exhibited an active presence during his time on the field, scoring his second goal in the competition this term. He seized an errant pass from Diego Carlos and unleashed a powerful low shot from the edge of the penalty area. The Japan international also struck a free-kick into the defensive wall before sending the rebound over the crossbar, and later ran onto a loose ball only to drag his shot wide of the post. Palace is set to play Arsenal in the next round during the week commencing 16 December.
