Daichi Kamada transferred to Crystal Palace from the Serie A club Lazio during the summer. Crystal Palace has initiated an investigation into claims of racist abuse from supporters aimed at midfielder Daichi Kamada, following his dismissal during Saturday’s match against Fulham. The Japan international was shown a red card in the 76th minute due to a reckless challenge on Fulham’s Kenny Tete. At the time of the incident, “The Eagles” were behind 1-0, ultimately suffering a 2-0 loss with goals scored by Emile Smith Rowe and Harry Wilson. “The club has a zero tolerance policy towards any form of abuse,” stated Palace. “We will take the strongest possible action against anyone identified as the perpetrator.” The club did not specify which group of supporters was alleged to have committed the abuse. Consequently, due to the red card, Kamada is set to miss Palace’s subsequent three Premier League fixtures against Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Ipswich, which are scheduled after the international break.
