Donovan Mitchell’s season-high performance included 36 points, seven three-pointers, and eight rebounds. The Cleveland Cavaliers have become only the eighth team in NBA history to win their initial 12 regular season games, following a 119-113 victory against the Chicago Bulls. This marks the most successful start to an NBA season since the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors, a team that ultimately achieved a record of 24 consecutive victories. Mitchell’s 36 points were the highest individual score for the Cavaliers, and five additional players also scored in double digits as the team recovered from a nine-point deficit in the third quarter to secure the win. Mitchell commented on the team’s performance, stating, “We dug deep.” He added, “For us to continue to be what we want to be, that’s what it’s going to take. “It was a complete team win. Every night it’s somebody different. We’re playing for each other, being selfless. We’ve got to keep it going.” For the Bulls, Zach LaVine contributed 26 points, with Coby White and Nikola Vucevic each scoring 20 points. Following this loss, the Bulls’ season record stands at 4-7. In other NBA action, Victor Wembanyama achieved 34 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 116-96 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Julian Champagnie contributed 13 points and Chris Paul scored 12 points, ensuring all Spurs starters reached double-digit scoring. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was a standout performer for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who secured a 134-128 win against the Los Angeles Clippers. This victory followed their defeat by the Golden State Warriors over the weekend. Gilgeous-Alexander recorded a career-high 45 points, supported by Jalen Williams with 28 points and Luguentz Dort with 19 points. Prior to the game, the Thunder disclosed that centre Chet Holmgren is scheduled for assessment in eight to 10 weeks, following a pelvic fracture sustained during the game against the Warriors. Elsewhere, Cam Thomas scored 17 points in the Brooklyn Nets’ 107-105 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Houston Rockets also achieved a comfortable 107-92 win against the Washington Wizards.
