Carlisle United’s head coach, Mike Williamson, has expressed certainty that his team will begin to score more goals, even as they face a precarious situation. Under Williamson’s leadership, Carlisle United has netted nine goals across 13 League Two matches. The club remains at the bottom of League Two following a 2-0 home loss to Chesterfield on Saturday. This defeat concluded a brief resurgence during which they had gone four games without a loss. With a total of 15 goals from 19 matches, their scoring record is the second lowest in the division. “We do it as a collective – we keep clean sheets together and we attack and score goals and win games together, and I definitely believe it will come,” Williamson stated in an interview with BBC Radio Cumbria. Across the entire EFL, only Tranmere Rovers, with 14 goals, have demonstrated less offensive effectiveness than Carlisle. Furthermore, Carlisle has not managed to score more than a single goal in any of their last 11 league fixtures, during which they have secured only one victory. Williamson emphasized the importance of team cohesion, stating, “We’ve got to make sure we stick together.” He added, “The Christmas period can really shape a season and hopefully we can pick up a few points and be in a better position at the end of it.” Post navigation De Pauw addresses assistant coach’s exit and team’s competitive drive Cercle Brugge vs. Hearts: Statistical Insights
