Cardiff City is facing uncertainty regarding the availability of their leading goal-scorer, Callum Robinson, for their Championship home fixture against Norwich City on Saturday. Interim manager Omer Riza stated that the Republic of Ireland international striker, who has scored four goals this season, sustained an injury to his Achilles tendon. Robinson has contributed three of his goals in the six matches since Riza took charge and is scheduled for an assessment prior to the encounter with Norwich. Riza commented: “A lot of the boys are in good form at the moment and we don’t want to lose players.” He added: “At the same time we have players chomping at the bit to play as well.” Concluding his statement, Riza said: “But Callum has been a really important, integral part of the team and I hope he will be okay.” Furthermore, Riza will be compelled to alter his lineup from the previous weekend’s goalless draw against West Bromwich Albion, as right-back Perry Ng is suspended after accumulating five bookings this season. Ng’s one-match ban comes at a challenging time, as Cardiff will need to contend with Norwich winger Borja Sainz, who is considered by some to be among the top players in the Championship currently. Riza stated: “Perry has been outstanding, obviously he is a big loss to us in this game.” He continued: “We are playing against probably one of the best wingers in the league at the moment in Sainz. He has scored 10 goals so far this year, is creative and causes problems. Perry would have dealt with that, but I think we will be fine.” Cardiff possesses several alternatives for the right-back position, including former Manchester United player Will Fish and ex-Aston Villa defender Callum Chambers, who are among the potential candidates. Riza emphasized: “The boys have to be ready to play where they need to play, they need to be prepared and take ownership of what is given to them, what obstacles are put in front of them and I am sure they are all professional enough to do that.” Post navigation Amputee Athlete Aims to Inspire with Golden Boot Award Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta Nears 250-Game Milestone
