Following his fourth goal against Coventry, which he celebrated with his team-mates, striker Callum Lang stated that his manager’s recognition of him as Portsmouth’s top performer this season would not lead to overconfidence. The player, a native of Liverpool, netted all four goals in John Mousinho’s team’s 4-1 victory over Coventry City, a feat achieved subsequent to receiving praise from his manager. After the win, Mousinho commented that Lang had been Pompey’s “outstanding” player throughout the current season. Lang remarked, “If your manager is saying that you’re obviously doing something right but I don’t want to get carried away. It’s a long season so the most important thing is that we stay in the division.” He further added, “It’s probably the highlight of my career. As a player you never want to come off the pitch but when my number came up on the board it was a really nice feeling, something like I’ve never had before.” Lang also noted, “Over the last four or five weeks we’ve looked like a completely different side. Everyone has spoken about the tough start and we had a blip after the Stoke game but now is the time we’ve turned up.” Concluding his remarks, he stated, “We’ve got to go to Watford and put in a performance. We’ve been really solid at home the last few weeks and now it’s about doing it away from home.” Post navigation Dundee Manager Tony Docherty on New Training Ground’s Potential Hibernian Team Updates and General Scottish Gossip
