Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen expressed his belief that the Seagulls’ “mix of experience and talent” enables them to compete with top-tier teams. This assessment followed their recent match at Anfield, where they initially took the lead against Liverpool but ultimately suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat. Speaking to BBC Radio Sussex after the game, Verbruggen stated: “We all know that we have a good team. We have a deep squad with a lot of quality. We have a good mix of experience and talent, so it really is a pleasure to be a part of.” He continued, “Every week we learn things and get better, so we have to keep building on that and performances like these. If we do that, I think we can reach good things this season.” Brighton’s next Premier League fixture is against Manchester City. The Dutch shot-stopper indicated his conviction that Fabian Hurzeler’s side can carry “confidence” into this upcoming challenge. Verbruggen remarked: “We know what we are capable of. We have shown that being clean and having the courage to play out from the back – and being good at it as well – can give you the momentum in a game.” He then added, “I think it is really important that we do that in the coming games.” When asked about his current form, having recorded two clean sheets in eight league appearances this season, Verbruggen replied: “I’m feeling good. I’m feeling sharp. I think the whole team feels sharp and fresh, so that inspires you as an individual. We just have to keep going, keep improving, and keep getting better and better.” Post navigation Arsenal Engages in Contract Discussions with Winger Trossard for Substantial Pay Rise Newcastle Reportedly Unlikely to Pursue Marc Guehi in January
