Bompastor: Chelsea Seeks Improvement Despite Undefeated Start

Sonia Bompastor, the manager of Chelsea, has made history as the first WSL manager to secure victories in her initial seven games in the competition. Despite her team’s perfect start to the season, Bompastor maintains that her squad still has areas for enhancement. Like when [we are] in possession of the ball, at the moment that is our main focus,” Bompastor stated. Bompastor affirmed, “We will support her and be with her during rehab.” Mayra Ramirez has distinguished herself by scoring six goals and providing four assists in her last 13 WSL games, particularly stepping up during the injury absences of Sam Kerr, Mia Fishel, and Lauren James. The manager commented, “Mayra has a lot of quality. Mayra is doing a good job individually and for the team. She showed against Man City she can hold the ball, make runs behind the back line and her efficiency in the box.” Bompastor expressed her good fortune in working in an environment where players avoid complacency despite their consistent success.
