Arsenal’s double scorer, Bukayo Saka, shared his thoughts on teenage defender Myles Lewis-Skelly during an interview with TNT Sports. Saka stated, “I just said to him ‘this is his level’, he needs to have no doubts, play the game and have the confidence.” He added, “We see what he’s doing in training. We are pleased for him and he played a key part in the first goal.” Saka concluded by expressing his pride, saying, “He just needs to keep going. I’m just so proud of him.” Regarding his near completion of a first Arsenal hat-trick, Saka commented, “Kai [Havertz] just got in the way of it but it’s coming, don’t worry.” Gunners defender Lewis-Skelly described his role in the first goal, stating, “I saw the ball getting switched from Martin [Odegaard]. I was getting pressed and I just thought ‘keep calm’ and take the ball away from the man. I saw Gabi [Jesus] pulling off and played him through and then great finish from Bukayo. He’s always there.” Reflecting on his first Champions League start, Lewis-Skelly remarked, “I’m proud of myself. I believe in myself but I’ve come a long way. I want to thank everyone for this opportunity. Hopefully this is the first of many.” Concerning the inspiration he draws from Saka, Lewis-Skelly noted, “Looking up to Bukayo, he has that mindset, he has everything. I’ve learned a lot from him and I want to keep learning.” Post navigation West Ham’s Historical Struggle Against Brighton: A Key Statistic Former Ranger Bell Urges Team to Progress After Cup Final Defeat
