Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has resumed full training sessions, having been sidelined for two months due to an ankle injury. He had missed 12 games for the club during this period. The 25-year-old Norway international midfielder sustained damage to his ankle ligaments while on international duty, leading to his absence since September and causing him to miss 12 matches. Prior to Wednesday’s Champions League fixture against Inter Milan, he participated in training with the Arsenal squad. In their most recent three Premier League encounters, Arsenal has secured only one point from a possible nine, following defeats to Newcastle and Bournemouth, and a closely contested draw against Liverpool. Arsenal experienced difficulties in generating significant scoring opportunities during the match against Newcastle, making the return of their captain and a primary creative force a considerable advantage. Nevertheless, England midfielder Declan Rice, also 25, did not accompany the Arsenal squad to Milan and will consequently be unavailable for Wednesday’s game. Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, is scheduled to address the media at 18:00 GMT.
