Ange Postecoglou, the former manager of Celtic, has identified the Europa League match against Rangers with Tottenham as the fixture he has most anticipated this season. Postecoglou, whose Tottenham side is currently experiencing a challenging period of form, will lead his team to Ibrox on Thursday. The Australian coach, who secured five out of six domestic trophies during his two seasons with Celtic before transferring to Spurs in June of last year, stated: “When the draw came out, it was the one of most interest to me because of my history up here. So I’m looking forward to it.” He added, “It should be a good game and it’s an important game for both clubs. A positive result gets you a good way to getting through to the knockout stages.” Having experienced both wins and losses in Govan during his tenure with Celtic, Postecoglou is acutely aware that the atmosphere at Ibrox becomes particularly intense on significant European match nights. He further commented: “Yeah, absolutely, and you’ve seen that this year as well.” Postecoglou elaborated on his understanding of the challenge: “When I was up here, particularly in my first year, they made the Europa League final so I’ve got a pretty clear idea of how challenging it is to play them here in front of their crowd and the atmosphere. At the same time, it’s exciting.” He also noted about Rangers: “Their domestic season in the league hasn’t gone as well as they would’ve liked but you can tell there’s still the elements there of quality. They’re in the cup final on the weekend and they’ve done really well in Europe.” Post navigation Football Match Summary: Ross County Triumphs 2-1 Against Motherwell Rangers Secure Narrow Victory Over Dundee: Post-Match Analysis
