One of the North West’s most recognized hotels could soon become a venue for boxing and wrestling contests. The proprietors of the Britannia Adelphi, situated on Ranelagh Street in Liverpool, have submitted an application to modify the conditions of the establishment’s operating licence. This modification would permit the inclusion of boxing and wrestling among the “indoor sporting events” it presently stages. The submitted licence application indicates that the Adelphi would be authorized to hold matches daily between 12:00 and 02:00, with Sunday events concluding by midnight. The Local Democracy Reporting Service reported that Liverpool City Council is expected to declare its decision regarding the application sometime next year.
