Ioan Nicholas and Henco Venter each scored tries during a second half characterized by shifting momentum. Duncan Weir then put Glasgow ahead for the first time, while Ioan Lloyd’s late penalty and drop-goal attempts, which could have secured a win for Scarlets, were unsuccessful. The visiting team, Scarlets, quickly took the lead. A penalty from Lloyd was swiftly followed by a rolling lineout maul, culminating in captain MacLeod scoring a try, which propelled Scarlets to an 8-0 advantage. The Warriors increased their intensity, and despite several botched lineouts near the Scarlets’ try line, they eventually broke through a period of exceptional Welsh defense, with Matthews scoring to reduce the deficit to a single point by halftime. Scarlets commenced the second half with the same attacking impetus as the first, and through patient phase play, full-back Nicholas found an opening to score the Welsh side’s second try of the match, restoring an eight-point lead. The Warriors responded without delay. From a lineout maul, Matthews broke away, advancing Glasgow within a few yards, and after several phases, Venter scored a try. Weir converted, bringing his team back to within one point. The fly-half, who had entered the game in the first half as a replacement for Scotland international Adam Hastings after Hastings was forced off due to a significant collision with Vaea Fifita, successfully kicked a penalty, giving Glasgow a 17-15 lead for the first time. Lloyd had an opportunity to regain the lead for Scarlets, but his penalty kick from 40 metres went wide.
