Matt Taylor, who has served as Bristol Rovers’ manager since December 2023, will be stepping away from his role temporarily. The League One club announced that this absence is due to an “ongoing family emergency.” During Taylor’s leave, assistant manager Wayne Carlisle and first-team coach David Horseman will assume interim responsibility for all “footballing duties.” In a statement, the club expressed: “The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Bristol Rovers are with Matt and his family during this difficult period, and we look forward to welcoming him back to work as soon as is suitable.” The Rovers squad is scheduled for an away match against Barnsley on Saturday in the second round of the FA Cup. Their league campaign will then resume with a trip to Leyton Orient on Tuesday, December 3.
