The swim team from BBC Guernsey has successfully finished its 24-hour swimming challenge, undertaken to support Children in Need (CiN). Comprising five members – Tim Hunter, Matt Judge, Holly-Anne Langlois, Charlie Le Noury, and Olivia Fraser – the team covered a distance of 24 miles (39km). This contribution is part of BBC local radio’s broader goal of 1,000 miles (1,609km). The challenge commenced for the team at 08:00 BST on Tuesday, taking place at Beau Sejour. Isla Blatchford, who served as both cheerleader and snack provider, commented: “I’m not sure they realised what they were signing up for but they have absolutely smashed the challenge and for such an important cause.” According to the team, the undertaking represented an extraordinary effort by all participants. CiN bosses stated that the charity is presently allocating £224,797 to projects in Guernsey, which forms part of nearly 1,500 initiatives being supported throughout the British Isles.
