Des Buckingham, the 39-year-old Oxford United head coach and one of the Championship’s youngest managers, stated he is untroubled by his team’s current run of results. This comes as the U’s prepare for Tuesday’s game against Hull City, having not secured a victory in their last eight matches. Oxford United experienced their initial home league defeat of the season on Saturday against Swansea. However, Buckingham indicated he is not yet alarmed by the situation. Buckingham conveyed his thoughts to BBC Radio Oxford, stating, “We were disappointed with the performance on Saturday. Woke up Sunday morning and I was already working on it and the players have been really clear working on that as well.” United, who were recently promoted, commenced the season strongly, securing victories in their initial three home league fixtures. Nevertheless, they have not achieved a win across all competitions since September 14. Buckingham further commented, “I think the biggest thing is not to overreact – [it is only] one game at home where we haven’t played to the levels that we certainly started with. If that was the case where we are talking four, five games or if that was the case all season, I would be very concerned. So we have to put it into context whilst also understanding that the standards we’ve set, we make sure we hold ourselves to them.” Post navigation Branthwaite’s Potential Role in Strengthening Chelsea’s Title Bid Manchester United: Podcast Presenters Doubt Ruben Amorim’s Success
