Supporters of Ross County had hoped their team would draw inspiration from their previous fixture against Rangers in Dingwall to secure another notable victory. A 3-2 win in April marked the Staggies’ initial triumph over Rangers on their 26th attempt. The question was whether they could achieve consecutive wins against the Govan-based team in Dingwall. Unfortunately, a similar outcome did not occur. Nonetheless, County’s performance in the 3-0 defeat represented a significant improvement compared to their showing at Celtic Park the preceding weekend. The attacking partnership of Ronan Hale and Alex Samuel posed challenges for the Rangers defense with their speed and movement, while Noah Chilvers and Akil Wright were unfortunate not to score due to saves by Jack Butland. Similar to the match against Celtic, County displayed a positive reaction after conceding an early goal and subsequently settled into the game. However, once Danilo capitalized on Jack Hamilton’s error to make the score 2-0, the Staggies faced a substantial uphill battle. Don Cowie’s squad prevented the game from getting away from them in the same manner as the week before and competed effectively in the second half. Hamilton executed several commendable saves, which are anticipated to help rebuild his confidence. Ross County fans understand that their season will not be defined by matches against Celtic or Rangers. While the past two games have been challenging, Cowie is keen for his team to move past these losses and concentrate on a crucial match this weekend against Hibs at Easter Road.
