Ireland centre Robbie Henshaw observed that Sam Prendergast performed like an experienced international player during his debut off the bench in Ireland’s 22-19 victory over Argentina on Friday. The 21-year-old fly-half entered the game for the final 20 minutes, replacing Jack Crowley, in the team’s narrow win in Dublin. Prendergast’s appearance marked him as the first individual from Ireland’s Under-20s squad, which reached an underage World Cup final last year, to represent the senior national side. Henshaw, Prendergast’s Leinster team-mate, commented, “He looks like he’s been playing international for a few seasons, he’s so composed and calm.” He further elaborated on Prendergast’s attributes, stating, “It’s probably just his presence on the pitch, he doesn’t seem to get to fazed by any occasion, he deals with pressure very well and he’s building on his game. He’s getting better and better.” Henshaw also highlighted Prendergast’s talent, adding, “He’s had some great sessions over the last few weeks so he’s definitely a huge talent. Good players always look like they have time on the ball and he definitely has that.” Prendergast, who is a potential starter against Fiji on Saturday in what is anticipated to be a rotated squad, also impressed head coach Andy Farrell. Farrell remarked, “I thought he was excellent.” He continued, “He was so composed playing his first cap in that type of position and that type of situation.” Farrell concluded by saying, “He had a nice tempo at the line and showed what kind of character he’s got.” Post navigation Jack Butland Calls for Rangers Victory Against Aberdeen, Dismissing Excuses Fan Reactions Following Crystal Palace’s 0-2 Defeat to Fulham
