Norwich City captain Kenny McLean has been issued a four-match suspension for the second occasion this season. This means that by the time he is eligible to return to play, he will have been absent for eight of the team’s initial 23 league matches due to disciplinary action. The 32-year-old midfielder faced a charge of violent conduct stemming from an incident in the 24th minute of Saturday’s 3-0 loss against Queens Park Rangers, an event that went unnoticed by match officials during the game. Despite the Scotland international’s denial of the accusation, an independent commission determined the charge to be proven. Consequently, he has been suspended for four games instead of the standard three, as this marks his second red card of the current season. McLean was playing his third match since completing his initial four-match suspension, which followed his sending off against Middlesbrough in October. He is now set to be sidelined until Norwich’s home fixture against QPR on 29 December.
