Wolves head coach Gary O’Neil has reaffirmed his conviction that he is the appropriate individual to lead the team, stating his belief that he has become a more effective coach after gaining “an awful lot” of knowledge over the past year. Following the club’s defeat to West Ham on Monday, O’Neil discussed his accomplishments since joining the club. He stated: “I understand the noise and scrutiny, but when I arrived at this football club, it had just achieved 39 points in the Premier League.” He further elaborated on the team’s current situation, adding: “This summer we lose our captain, Max Kilman, and Pedro Neto for a combined £100m and we sign a load of young lads, who will be great for the club in the future. That is where the football club is.” Although O’Neil was a contender for the Premier League manager of the month award in November, his team has subsequently experienced three consecutive losses, during which they conceded a total of 10 goals. Nevertheless, O’Neil asserted: “I’m confident we can turn it around. It’s not my decision but I know I’m a better coach then I was last year. I’ve learned an awful lot.” He concluded by saying: “All I can ask the group is to be the best version of themselves. I know I can get the best out of this group.” Post navigation Leeds Manager Farke Foresees Scoring Challenge Against Swansea Expert Highlights Ruben Amorim’s Transformative Impact on Portuguese Football
