Blackburn Rovers’ head of recruitment, John Park, has vacated his position at Ewood Park. His departure comes just five months after he rejoined the club for a second period of employment. Park had initially returned to Rovers in June, having previously served in the same capacity from 2021 to 2022. The club officially confirmed his exit on Wednesday evening, stating it was by mutual agreement. A statement published on the club’s website read: “Rovers would like to thank John for his dedicated service across two spells with the club.” The statement continued, outlining the club’s next steps: “The club will now begin the recruitment process to bring in his replacement, who will work closely alongside Rovers’ senior leadership team at the STC (senior training centre) and the academy.” This event occurs six months after Gregg Broughton, Blackburn’s director of football, also left the club. Following Broughton’s exit, former striker Rudy Gestede arrived and was named head of football operations.
