Blackburn Rovers forward Yuki Ohashi achieved his international debut for Japan during their World Cup qualifier match against Indonesia, which took place in the early hours of Friday. The 28-year-old entered the game in Jakarta as a substitute, playing for the concluding 10 minutes. Japan secured a 4-0 victory in the match, with Southampton’s Yukinari Sugawara being one of the goalscorers. Japan currently leads their AFC World Cup qualifying group, maintaining a five-point lead over Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. Ohashi, who has netted five goals for Blackburn since his transfer from Sanfrecce Hiroshima in July, is anticipated to participate again when Japan plays China, the team at the bottom of the group, next Tuesday.
