Reports from Australia indicate that YouTuber Yung Filly, identified as Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, 29, has been charged with reckless driving. These new charges come as he is also accused of raping a woman in the country. Police allege that Barrientos drove past a speed camera on a Perth highway last month at a speed of 158km/h (98mph). This alleged incident reportedly took place while Barrientos was out on bail concerning an alleged assault on a woman at a Perth hotel in September. The BBC has sought a statement from Barrientos’s representatives. When asked for comment, law enforcement officials stated they could not confirm the charges by name, but did confirm that a 29-year-old male had been charged with reckless driving. Authorities further reported that the alleged speeding incident occurred on November 17 in Perth’s High Wycombe area, where the posted speed limit is 100km/h, and that his vehicle was impounded. Barrientos is scheduled to appear in court on December 19 to face the reckless driving accusation. On the same date, he is also set to appear in connection with four charges of sexual penetration without consent, three charges of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one charge of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure on or to their neck. Allegations state that Barrientos brought a woman in her 20s to his hotel room following his performance at the Bar1 nightclub in Perth. The rapper was touring Australia at the time, performing his music. Barrientos is widely recognized for his involvement with the YouTube group Beta Squad and for hosting programs on BBC Three. In the UK, his television appearances include ITV’s Soccer Aid and Channel 4’s Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer. He received a Mobo Award for best media personality in 2021.
