A new youth bus will provide young individuals with the opportunity to record their own music or podcasts. Equipped with a music recording studio and podcasting gear, the bus is scheduled to tour Walsall from November 4 to 9. Youth will have the chance to visit the bus at multiple sites throughout the borough. Additionally, attendees can engage with youth workers representing Walsall Council and its partner organisations. The dates, times and locations for the bus are as follows: The bus’s deployment coincides with Youth Work Week, an annual celebration organised by National Youth Agency to honor youth work. Councillor Stacie Elson, portfolio holder for children’s services at Walsall Council, commented: “I can’t wait to see this bus hit the road next week – interacting with our young people is an absolute priority of the council.” She added: “It’s been refitted with some amazing equipment for young people to enjoy.” Councillor Elson further stated: “We want our young people to know they have a voice, and we’re listening. We want to be present in our communities speaking with the future adults of Walsall.” For updates, follow BBC Birmingham on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X and Instagram. Copyright 2024 BBC.
