The English Football League (EFL) Trophy match between Wrexham and Crewe Alexandra, scheduled for Tuesday night, will proceed as planned. This confirmation follows concerns after the Stok Racecourse was affected by Storm Darragh. Strong winds on Saturday caused damage to a section of the roof of the stadium’s Macron Stand. Mold Road, which is adjacent to the venue, was subsequently closed for safety reasons. However, the club has verified that their second-round cup fixture on Tuesday remains unaffected. In an official statement, the club declared: “Work has been ongoing to clear up after Storm Darragh and we can confirm there is no risk to tomorrow’s match at home to Crewe Alex.” Phil Parkinson’s team advanced to the second round by finishing at the top of their group. Their progression was secured through victories against Wolves Under-21s and Salford City. Their sole defeat in the competition occurred on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regular play against Port Vale. The match against Crewe is scheduled to kick off at 19:30 GMT.
