Wrexham returns to the Racecourse tonight, where their current performance outshines even the top teams in the Premier League. This includes Liverpool, the leaders of the top flight, as Anfield’s Kop has not witnessed the same level of success this season as the temporary Kop at the historic north Wales ground. Phil Parkinson’s team will host Barnsley in a League One fixture, having had a weekend break following their early elimination from the FA Cup. Currently positioned second in the league standings, they are aiming for a third consecutive victory, building on their recent successes against Exeter and Lincoln. Furthermore, Wrexham intends to extend their remarkable streak playing before their home supporters. The Hollywood-backed club currently holds the strongest home record across both the Premier League and the EFL. They are among only nine teams across the top four English football divisions that remain undefeated at home, a group that also features Arsenal, Brighton, and fellow League One competitor Birmingham. Even Liverpool, despite their strong beginning under Arne Slot, falls behind Wrexham’s home performance, having suffered a defeat to Nottingham Forest in September. In their nine home league matches this season, the Red Dragons have accumulated 25 points, with only a goalless draw against Huddersfield preventing a perfect record. Throughout the top four divisions, only Sheffield United’s Championship record at Bramall Lane matches this achievement, as the Blades have also secured eight victories and one draw from their nine fixtures. However, Wrexham supporters have witnessed a greater number of goals, with Parkinson’s team netting 20 at home compared to the 14 scored by Chris Wilder’s squad. Following their weekend victory against Leicester, Brentford now leads the Premier League home table with 19 points from seven matches. This translates to an impressive 2.71 points per game to date, which is marginally lower than Wrexham’s 2.77 ppg. Wrexham’s strong home performance is not a recent development; despite losing three league games at the Racecourse upon their return to the EFL last season, they have only suffered four league defeats on Mold Road across the past four campaigns.
