George Dobson stated that Wrexham finds itself in “a really good place” even with the disappointment stemming from Saturday’s draw against Charlton Athletic. Wrexham appeared poised for a win at The Valley until a disputed penalty decision allowed the Addicks to secure a point during the seventh minute of injury time. Dobson, a former Charlton player, expressed his view that the call to penalize Max Cleworth for handball was incorrect. However, he maintained that Wrexham should not feel discouraged. He commented, “We will lick our wounds because it was such a good performance. We were well worthy of the win so it’s obviously very disappointing, but we have just got to stay positive because we played really well. We are still in a really good place going into the FA Cup and then we’ll get back to the league action.” Wrexham is scheduled to play Harrogate in the cup competition next Sunday. The team has experienced only one defeat in their most recent seven League One matches. Phil Parkinson’s squad currently holds the third position in the league standings, trailing second-placed Wycombe Wanderers by one point and leaders Birmingham City by four points. Their return to league play will be a home fixture against Mansfield Town on 9 November. Dobson further remarked, “I thought we played really well [at Charlton] but that last 30 seconds, it’s a big learning curve for us. You come away from home, a big crowd – it’s a tough game but we played really well. So it’s a real kick in the teeth, but there are so many positives.” Post navigation Postecoglou Discusses Tottenham’s Performance and Werner’s Half-Time Substitution Manchester United Pursues Multiple Transfer Targets Amid Rival Interest
