Construction is scheduled to begin on two new play areas within parks in a Derbyshire town. Starting Monday, a two-month project will establish a play area at Maurice Lea Memorial Park in Swadlincote, while a one-month effort will see play equipment installed at Swadlincote Woodlands. Council leader Robert Pearson stated that the work was vital to ensure the parks serve the town’s communities, and expressed gratitude to individuals for their input on the designs. The council has also requested that visitors demonstrate understanding regarding any potential disruption while the work is being conducted. The £280,000 schemes, funded by South Derbyshire District Council, saw more than 1,000 votes cast on the final designs chosen for creation.
