A significant cannabis cultivation operation, involving nearly 200 plants, was discovered at a residential property in Worcester. Law enforcement officers conducted a raid on a Teme Road address on Monday, prompted by local residents’ concerns regarding the growth of the illicit substance. Inside the premises, officials located 189 growing plants, alongside quantities of the drug undergoing a drying process, presumably for distribution. A 22-year-old male was apprehended at the house on suspicion of producing cannabis. West Mercia police stated that drug manufacturing on this scale is typically linked to “organised crime groups, whose activities fuel further criminality, including modern slavery.” The force added, “Tackling these operations is vital to protecting our communities and keeping them safe from harm.” Follow BBC Hereford & Worcester on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X and Instagram.
