The Wombourne Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), which had been closed due to subsidence, is scheduled to resume operations. It will be open five days a week, from 10:00 to 16:00 GMT, and will remain closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Staffordshire Council announced that the southern section of the facility will accommodate up to four vehicles at a time and will accept general waste, including bulky items, garden waste, and wood. The site saw a partial reopening in October, and a temporary arrangement was also put in place for some residents to use the Stourbridge tip. The full reopening of the Wombourne site is set for Friday. Simon Tagg, the council’s cabinet member for environment, thanked residents for their patience. He stated, “Our arrangements for eligible residents to use Dudley Council’s Stourbridge site remain in place, and Bilbrook HWRC is also an option for some.” Vans, pick-up trucks, trailers, and trade waste will not be permitted at the facility. Bilbrook HWRC, located at Pendeford Mill Lane, Codsall, operates seven days a week and accepts most types of household waste.
