A female individual received a 25-year prison sentence after being convicted of the attempted murder of a man whom she stabbed over 30 times. According to Essex Police, Lucinda Fyfield equipped herself with a 12-inch (30cm) kitchen knife for the assault, which occurred at her residence on Gilders Way in Clacton-on-Sea on May 11. The 39-year-old victim sustained permanent scarring, required emergency surgical intervention, and ultimately survived the incident. Following a five-day trial, Fyfield, whom the police force characterized as a “pathological liar,” was found guilty of attempted murder. Detectives reported that she paused mid-attack to smoke a cigarette before subsequently attempting suicide. Fyfield also received medical treatment at a hospital prior to being formally charged and held in custody. The presiding judge issued an indefinite restraining order, prohibiting Fyfield from making any contact with the victim. Detective Madison Duffus stated that the man endured an “undeniably terrible attack.” The officer added, “Fyfield has proven herself to be a pathological liar and very dangerous individual.” “Despite the months between this incident and the trial, she has never offered an explanation for this attack, or showed any remorse.” Updates on Essex news can be accessed via BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
