A 69-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after being struck by a van near Castle Howard in North Yorkshire. The incident, involving a red Renault Kangoo, occurred on Castle Howard Station Road in Welburn at approximately 13:30 GMT on Monday. Police have confirmed her condition as critical. North Yorkshire Police reported that she was transported to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance. The driver of the van is currently assisting authorities with their enquiries. The force has also issued an appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing.
