Police have reported that a woman in her 70s required rescue from a river in Devon after being involved in a collision with a van. Devon and Cornwall Police stated that officers were dispatched following reports of the incident on Market Road in Tavistock at 14:45 GMT on Monday. The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that fire crews utilized a triple extension ladder to retrieve the woman, who had fallen “approximately nine feet.” The service added, “The woman was able to climb the ladder with assistance from fire crews and was taken to hospital by ambulance.” The driver of the van also received treatment for their injuries, it was noted.
