Irish police (gardaí) have taken a woman into custody as part of their investigation into the disappearance and subsequent murder of Kyran Durnin. She is currently undergoing questioning at a police station located in the eastern region of the Republic of Ireland. Kyran, who was six years old at the time he was last observed alive, was reported missing from his residence in Drogheda during August. The gardaí initiated a murder investigation in October, stating that they were considering Kyran as missing with a presumption of death. During 2022, Kyran attended the national [primary] school situated close to his home in Dundalk. Information suggests that authorities were informed of his impending relocation to Northern Ireland, where he was expected to enroll in a new school in Newry. According to reports, school officials in Dundalk, where Kyran resided with his mother, were informed at the conclusion of the 2022 summer term that he would be attending school across the border; however, this assertion has not been verified.
