Woman Critically Injured, Man Arrested After Car Crash

A woman is currently hospitalized in critical condition, and a man has been arrested, following a vehicle’s collision with a traffic island near Huddersfield. West Yorkshire Police reported that the incident occurred on Woodhead Road, Honley, specifically before the bend close to the junction with Hanging Stone Road, at approximately 04:52 GMT. A 35-year-old female passenger was transported to the hospital via ambulance. The driver, a 40-year-old man, received medical attention for injuries not considered life-threatening. He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and operating a vehicle while exceeding the prescribed limits for alcohol and drugs. The white Volkswagen Golf GTI was traveling eastbound towards Honley when the crash took place, subsequently overturning onto its roof. Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
