Police have confirmed that a woman in her 30s sustained critical injuries following a two-vehicle collision in County Londonderry. The incident, which involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a blue Volkswagen Tiguan, occurred on Sunday evening at the junction of Oaklee Road, Ballyronan, in Magherafelt. Emergency services personnel, including police officers, responded to the scene after receiving a report around 20:55 GMT. Among the other occupants in the woman’s vehicle was a young child, who also sustained injuries and remains in a stable condition. A male passenger, aged in his 20s, who was also in the same car, escaped injury. The female driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan, who is in her 40s, sustained injuries that are not life-threatening, as did two children travelling in that vehicle. The thoroughfare was temporarily closed following the incident but has since been fully reopened to traffic. Law enforcement officials have issued an appeal for individuals possessing any information or dashcam footage pertaining to the event to contact them.
